Just wanted to let you know my orthopedic doctor said the only way to see a stress fracture was to have a bone scan done. I was told that a xray will not show a stress fracture unless the fracture goes straight across the bone. I also went to a podiatrist for 4 months and after taping, cortizone shots and anti inflammatories I am now going to a orthopedic doctor. I have had a bone scan to check for stress fracture - negative. I am going Friday to have a MRI done to check the nerves. I was really frustrated with my podiatrist - that is why I switched. I wish you luck!
