If PF is healed, can scar tissue still cause pain?

If PF is healed, can scar tissue or any other byproduct of PF still cause pain? Could this be why PF is so difficult for suffers and medical professionals to diagnose? Maybe it is not PF itself, but what is left over after it is healed. Any thoughts or comments?
