Re: PF - NSAID - Anyone tried Lodine (Etodolac) ???

I took about a week's worth of Lodine XL last year to calm the inflamation in a ripped knee ligament. Actually, it didn't help my knee much but it did help my feet. Nice med while I was on it. I have been taking Relafen for about a week now (for arthritis in my hands) -- like you, I am unimpressed with it. I quit it today (gave it a week, saw about a 15% improvement, not enough to continue swallowing it). Diane, I remember your earlier posts about Doan's. I think if I do the OTC route, I'll give Doan's a shot. It sounds like as good a bet as anything else. I do share your concern about the cavalier attitude of docs prescribing meds; they seem to have their favorites regardless of what the patient's history indicates. The "new stuff" ALWAYS demands more action out of my wallet than I'd like; but there I hold the insurance industry responsible, since "formulary" drug plans seem to exclude an increasing number of drugs that the physicians of 1999 are prescribing. Kind of has the appearance of a no-win, doesn't it?
