I agree with your husband. I've had two sets of custom orthotics and several other similar to over the counter that different doctors have recommended. None of these have felt as good as my Birks. My back was killing me prior to me purchasing my first pair of Birks several months ago. I'm seeing a new PT man who doesn't like Birks because he doesn't think they're good for the back. When I told him my back feels better with the Birks he replied, "Do whatever works for you". I just ordered my second pair of Birks tonight. Good luck to you!
