My advice would be to have the surgery. Make sure you have the "full release" surgery, though. Also, no matter what the surgeon advises, do not walk on the foot right away. Let it rest for at least 48 hours. It's not a miracle cure. You will still have to have PT after surgery and continue stretching at home. It takes alot of work after the surgery to rebuild your muscles and get your movement and flexability back, but, eventually it happens. I had the "full release" surgery in November. I still have some pain, but only after I've been on my feet for a long period of time. I've had one really bad day in the past 3 weeks. That, to me, makes the surgery worth it. I'm back to working both of my jobs and can get out of bed every morning with no pain. Good luck in whatever you decide and I hope you get some relief.
