Hi--I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for about a year--things have gone from bad to worse. In my case, I do not have any radiographic evidence of heel spurs and I only have the problem on my left foot (due to a soccer injury). It happened when I made a simple misstep in practice on a cold day in newly applied cold shoes. My foot slid one way and my shoe stayed put, resulting in a shearing and tearing of the fascia at the calcaneus. The rest of this history, briefly, is as follows: developed fat pad atrophy and multiple inflammatory nodules directly under the heel so that I can no longer comfortably weightbear directly through the heel, began to subtly change my gait pattern by rolling over the lateral part of the foot to take pressure off the heel, to currently when I now feel that the whole bottom of my foot has got an intrinsic contracture (inflexibility) and I am developing constant pain in other parts of the foot such as the joints all aroung the ankle and metatarsals. I wear inserts (rigid) which help, but I am now interested in being more aggressive in getting this treated.
