Doug, I have had a bone scan and basically what is looks for is a "hot spot" that will detect inflamation. From what I remember they inject a dye into your veins so they can take pictures of the bones. They are usually used to detect stress fractures, but it seems to me that if you have pf there is already inflamation in the foot so the bone scan will just confirm the "hot spot" and your doctor will charge you $200 and tell you there's inflamation in your foot!!!!!
