I started reading about this therapy, and like you, I became enthused. There are so many glowing reports out there that I couldn't understand why it wasn't more widely known and practiced.
Then I tried it and decided the reason it isn't more widely known is that it doesn't work. It's expensive (especially if you have to travel to have it done), painful, and is not covered by insurance. It's really inconvenient because after having the sole of your foot injected in multiple spots, it's hard to put even a little pressure on that foot for over a week.
I did therapy courses with two different physicians, both well known for prolotherapy. One course lasted two months and the other ten months. They used different solutions and different injection techniques. Both had me take several hundred dollars worth of supplements to aid in the healing. Both were real ordeals, and in the end neither helped me in the least.
And I was lucky. I met another woman online who claimed the prolotherapy made her condition far worse.
Good luck to you.
Irene
