Cast off tomorrow

Four weeks ago, I had my first cortisone shot, and decided to have my leg casted for four weeks. I felt that getting the shot and then still walking on my feet for 8 hours a day, wouldn't aid in healing the PF. My PF came on suddenly. I hurt my foot while playing laser tag--something I've never done. I believe I twisted, pulled or tore the tendon, causing severe acute pain. After other treatments, I saw an orthopedic doctor who specializes in feet and ankles and this is the treatment we decided together. I wanted to do all I could to heal the inflammation and not do a little then add another step. The pain in my heel seemed better after two weeks. Life in a cast is not fun, but I continued to work--x-ray tech on feet all day--I am sooo excited about have two bare feet tomorrow, moving my foot and ankle, and actually getting in a shower. I will post how it feels and if it helped. I have enjoyed your message board. By the way, my sister in PA, had PF in both feet, post repeated volleyball trauma, she had the surgury and has stayed pain free and has gone back and played volleyball again and tennis. I would not advise messing with the bone but releiving the tendon, helped her!
