PF started in right foot, now in both feet

I started having severe heel and arch pain in my right foot only a few months ago. It was after I had taken a long walk on pavement in very unsupportive shoes. (If only I had that day to do over!) I did ice packs, elevation, prescription ibuprofen, and heel pads. My pain started to decrease when I wore Dr. Scholl inserts with heel pads and arch support both. I also wear shoes that lace over the arch as opposed to being open. (Means no ladies dress shoes for me!) Anyway, I now have lesser pain in both feet, whereas I started out with severe pain in one foot only. Did I get the PF in my left foot because I was putting additional stress on it by favoring my right foot?
