My surgery was actually in 1998. I had taping, strapping, shots, electrolic stimulation, soaking, tennisball rubbing, icing, orthodics, on and on. Nothing help so it was to the surgery table I went. My recovery took a year before I felt 100% but I have been on two backpacking trips with 25+ packs and walk and play tennis and ride my bike now which I couldn't before the surgery. I had both feet done at once and have lost 10 lbs. It takes time to heal but if patient, will and your life will be yours again. In our "fix it now" society, we don't seem to want to give our bodies time to heal properly. My poor feet had excess weight on them from inactivity due to pain and it took time to let them readjust to the surgery and the changes that made to my stance and weight distribution. It's a painful recovery, but a great light is at the end of the tunnel. I'm 43 years old and feel 20 again! Good luck...and remember, the successful surgery patients are out living...not sitting at the computer!
