I am 11 days post op and reposting due to insufficient information and incorrect surgical date. I was in severe pain prior to surgery last week and am still hurting but the pain now is different than before the procedure. I have suffered from bi-lateral PF, spurs and tendonitis in the achilles tendon and the tibial posterior tendon. I chose the open procedure after much research on EPF and open only to find patients with the EPF were alot less satisfied. I was an outpatient. My right leg was in a cast when I awoke only to be removed a week later due to swelling and it became to tight. Upon removal my pod bandaged it, xrayed it and I now use crutches and go back in two days for stitch removal. I am told the recovery time for this procedure is anywhere from three months to a year. I may still be facing more surgery to correct some issues with my ankle but the hope is that by correcting my gait, the tendonitis will heal itself. So far I am not sorry at all that I chose to have this done since I have been unable to work now for the past six months and pretty much couch bound. I am praying this will return me to a somewhat normal quality of life compared to what I have had for the past year.
