I had PF surgery: R foot 11/21/01 and L foot 12/21/01. I had some numbness in my L foot after surgery for 4 months and then that went away. I slowly got back into walking, deep water aerobics, some country dancing, low impact aerobics but that is the extent of exercising. I wore custom orthoics after surgery till August when my doctor said I should wein out of them. I still need support in the shoes I wear, so I am limited to shoes. I still have pain after surgery, and it's almost been a year. Ive been on Neurontin since January, at first for the numbness but now I am still on it for my podiatrist still thinks my pain is from a neuropathy issue. I had a Nerve Conduction Study done in April and again this past week and it didn't show a problem. Standing is the worse, in line at grocery store and cooking dinner, I do not last more than 45 minutes and then I am so sore I have to get off my feet. Walking around and shopping I last 2 hours max. Im getting frustrated with why I still have pain after many many months of surgery. I will say the pain is no wheres as bad as it was before surgery. My doctor feels my feet each time I go to him and he says he doens't feel any inflamation. I will keep you posted on what happens next.
