After suffering w/ PF for over three years, and having all conservative measures fail, I finally opted for surgery. I'm one week out from my open fascia release/baxter procedure on my left foot. Therefore I'm not sure whether or not the surgery has been a success. I was immediately placed in a cam walker boot upon leaving the hospital. MD said this is necessary to keep everything stretched out. I had two days of tenderness and pain, and each day has gotten better since. I went for my first post op five days out for a wound check. It's already healing up nicely. No swelling or brusing! She said that I am now able to begin applying a little pressure at a time until I can work up to walking without the crutches. I will go back in two weeks to have the sutures removed. As of now, I have no pain other then tenderness around the wound area. I am going to stay optimistic. I will report back soon.
