I am only 6 days post op. I have been dealing with both feet for several years with little positive results (injections, orthodics, taping,) Night splints were not approved by insurance, but surgery was, so off I went. Post op instructions were partial weight bearing which supprised me (pre op they said NO weight bearing).
I had to beg for crutches, which were finaly issued if I felt I needed them, and they do come in handy. I was also given a "CRYO CUFF" which is a very cool icing method. It came in very handy for the 1st few days with 15 min interval icing.

I can't point my foot without a lot of pain, but I am hobbling around ok, but I hobbled well pre-op too (toe stepping). Forget about walking on my heel yet. I'm actually doing better than I had expected. As long as I'm off my foot, no pain (but then again that was pretty much the story pre-op too). I expected much more pain post-op than I am having :)

I was supprised by the lack of instructions at my bandage change. I am not sure if I should be trying to walk, or trying to stretch, or to avoid all those things. Maybe its not important. Maybe it is...Ill be calling the office tomorrow to clarify things a bit.

Sensations in my heel are a bit strange...kind of tingly but not painful...very odd/new feeling for me. I'm used to sharp firey pain, so maybe this is an improvement. Ill find out soon enough.
