First Entry: Date: 05/21/2003 . . . Pain Level: . . . Activity Level: . . . Satisfaction with surgery:
Had the surgery 2 weeks ago today (5/7/2003). The surgery went fine, no problems. Had the surgery at 7:30 am, and was back at home by 11:00 am. Did not experiece much pain after returning home, but I did take pain medicine as prescribed. I had my stitches remove 4 days ago, and I am starting to walk with a cane. If I am up for 10 minutes or so, I do have pain. Accoring to my doctor, this is normal as long as resting the foot eases the pain. According to my doctor, I am looking at 4 to 6 weeks of recovery time.

Date: 07/03/2003 . . . Pain Level: 6 . . . Activity Level: 4 . . . Satisfaction with surgery: 7
It has been (2) months since my surgery and I still have pain. The pain is worst first thing in the morning (9), but and after I stretch and move around some, it drops to about a (3). As the day goes, the pain slowly increases until the evening (7). Again, according to my doctor, this will fade over the next couple of months. I have been released from my doctor as of today (7/3). I am to continue my stretching and applying ice as needed. Take Ibuprofen to jelp with the pain and wear my night splint. I can resume any activites as I see fit, but he did say to slowly work back into any exercising.
