I also had a gastrocnemius tendon release along with the plantar Fascia release. I am still on crutches and in a cast and I will be for another 3 weeks. Aside from the pain of healing, the pain seems to be less. I don't wake up in the morning with my foot throbbing. I will post more later and let you know how it goes.

I am finally off the crutches and in a removable walking cast. As long as I have it on, I can walk almost pain free. But if I try to walk to the bathroom at night without it I get a lot of pain in my heel and in the back of my calf. Most of the pain in my heel is now at the back of my heel instead of the center. I go see the doctor in 3 days and he plans to try and get my back in my regular shoes. We'll see though. I don't know how I can possibly do that full time yet. I was expecting to be more pain free by now. But, I'll wait to see what the doc says about where I should be right now.
