First Entry: Date: 06/24/2005 . . . Pain Level: 8 . . . Activity Level: 5 . . . Satisfaction with surgery:
I had a gastroc lengthening. The incision is minimal (2") on the medial right calf. Immediately after the procedure the MD stated I had a 20% increase in range of motion. He had quoted me an 80% chance of this solving the PF. It has now been two weeks post-op the immobilizer is off and I have been instructed to stretch aggressively, "you can't stretch too much." It smarts doing it, but I am committed to making this work. I had bilateral ESWT in Jan 2005 and then left is much better than the right. He said this is my last, best chance. I have tried all conservative modalities for PF.

Date: 03/08/2006 . . . Pain Level: 6 . . . Activity Level: 2 . . . Satisfaction with surgery: 5
I just had gastroc lengthening and it's to early to tell, however it seems to be my onlyy chance since I have tried all other conservative treatmets and none worked. I do have some numbness in my feet and toes and i am not sure if that is a side effect of the surgery.
