I had been battling PF for 6 years. Got orthotics and they helped some for a while. Went back to first DPM...didn't care for his manner. He insisted on cortisone inj, but gave no explanation of cause, stretches, etc. Was given name of Dr. Pignetti by friend at shop. He agreed on needed cortisone, but only after explaining cause, ruling out tear, giving stretched, etc. Over 10 months, had 3 injs. Finally agreed that this was an extreme case and surgery was recommended. Orthopedic surgeon was 1) against all DPMs, 2) gave same stretches as DPM, and 3) pain med Rx (which helped back, but not foot!). Am very pleased with outcome. Am having some midfoot pain after 3 months, but it's not bothersome...not like prior pain.
