HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR TEN MONTHS-3 CORTISONE SHOTS,NO HELP;OFF WORK(NURSE) SINCE JAN.2000,SINCE I CANNOT DO LIGHT DUTY; MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO FIND THE RIGHT SHOE FAILED,THE ONLY RELIEF I GOT WAS FROM WEARING A HIGHER HEEL(2"). USING A CAM WALKER HELPED THE PAIN I HAD IN MY ANKLE AND LEFT SIDE OF FOOT,BUT THE MINUTE I STARTED TO TRY
REGULAR WALKING FOR AS LITTLE AS ONE-FOURTH MILE,PROBLEMS RETURNED
PAIN IN ARCH AND BOTTOM OF HEEL,ALSO BACK OF HEEL(FELT LIKE HEEL WAS BEING PULLED OFF) MOST OF THE TIME,EXCRUCIATING WHEN FIST ARISING.STRETCHING MADE IT A LOT WORSE-IHAVE A VERY HIGH ARCH AND HAMMER TOES .
SINCE SURGERY ONE WEEK AGO(8-25-00) STILL PAINFUL ON ARISING BUT LESS SO-?SURGICAL PAIN VS. PF.. FEELS A LOT BETTER WHEN I HAVE SHOE AND ORTHOTIC ON, STILL USING A CANE FOR ANY DISTANCES,BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD TO TAKE IT EASY FOR NOW. ONLY NEEDED PAIN MEDS FIRST DAY,
HAD STANDARD FASCIA RELEASE IN A DAY SURGERY SETTING,HOME IN 5 HOURS,GENERAL ANESTHESIA, SURGERY NOT A PROBLEM.

It's been three weeks since my surgery. My pain level is definitely decreased, the worst is still when I get out of bed in the morning, but stretching my foot against the wall helps that. After 1-2 minutes, I,m pretty comfortable. Yesterday, I walked the dog for about one-third of a mile , I am happy to report none of my previous symptoms of pulling at the back of the heel, pain on the rolling up of my foot or feeling like I was falling off.. the left side of my foot, along with pain in the ankle that occured. Previously, I could not walk that far without the symptoms. I have a little pain at times in the arch. but overall nothing like it used to be.I am presently wearing a running shoe(etonic) without my orthotic, since that hurts. I have a very high arch, so I would supinate quite a bit, but now I feel I am walking on the center of my foot. I am very happy so far,but guarded in my optimism.,

I'm now about six weeks post-op.I'm walking a little more each day -the only pain that still persists is when I first get on the foot, and that goes away in 3-5 minutes, nothing like it used to be. Even if this does not go,I can deal with it. I use a night splint , but it doesn't seem to help a lot. -getting ready to go back to work and hoping that doesn't make things worse. At this point, would recommend the surgery.

have been back to work for three weeks. My left foot is doing well , slight amount of stiffness but no real pain, and I do a lot of walking. My problem now is tingling and pain in my right foot, but so far I can deal with that. I would definitely recommend the surgery to anyone who has been suffering for a long time.
