I have suffered from PF for a year now. Went to a poditrist, and 2 orthopedic surgeons in Boston. Phy. therapy for five months, night splints still, walking cast for a month. One shot of cortisone, but heard from doctors that it is dangerous and don't do it again, ultra sound, stretching, golf ball rolling, ice message etc. Had MRI and xrays. Showed no spurs (they don't cause the pain anyway)/ MRI showed fluid around fascia which proves I have PF. I work retail and on my feet a major amount. Hurts a dot when wake in a.m., but not awful. Find pain worse when I stand. Walking OK for a while, then kills. Anyone out there with same situation. What were you told. I was told NOT to wear Birkenstocks. Even though it has an arch, there is no support. I wear ASCIS sneakers that runners wear with PF> Got Spenco light supports. My orthoditcs killed me. Got two different types (1,000 dollars later). I don't know what else to do. Stopped stretching. Told doctor it was worse when I did it. He said that not a lot is known about PT even though it is the number one complaint. He is a BIG SHOT in a major Boston hospital and writes and lectures on feet. Cutting work down to 20 hours to see if that helps. Notice when not on feet a lot, I feel better, but life is not just sitting. Gained 15 pounds because cannot exercise. Cannot take anti inflamatories because I have esophageal reflux. HELP I wonder if anyone knows or had been told that this condition just won't go away. My 2 orthopedic surgeons and poditrist totally won't operate. Says can have major complications which would be worse than what I suffer now. I am 15 lbs overweight now and 52 female. Pleasssseeeee respond Thanks drdlr@msn.com
