Dr. Barrett really seems to be an expert in the PF condition and the surgery. He has been involved in 800 Epf surgeries, so he has a lot of experience. Of course, the proof will be in 6 weeks or so, when I can tell if I am cured. I don't know if I can expect a 100% recovery to pre-injury status, but at this point, I'd just be happy to walk to the grocery store without pain!
If you can do it, I would recommend that you see him. Have you checked out his web-page? I tried to bring it up today, and couldn't get thru. Not sure what's up with that
Your story is just tragic - I can't understand why some of us get this so severely, and others heal right up. I think you would be interested in Dr. Barrett's opinion re: bursitis - he says the heel has no actual bursa at all - and its all about the fat pads (which he says are very important biomechanical structures). I don't have a fat pad problem (that we know of), so I didn't really talk to him about the cure for that. But, I did talk to him about the fact that my dr. here said I probably had bursitis, and that's when he said he's seen 2,000 cada
vers, and there is NO BURSA in the foot. So, not sure where that leaves us!
Please let me know how you are doing. I will pray for you (I'm not at all religious, but this condition has a way of changing that!)
Cindy .
