Walking Cast
Posted by Jamie on 12/28/98
I have been suffering from heel pain (PF) for almost two years. I have had sterroid injections but they only worked for a short period of time then the pain returned. I have taken a prescription anti-inflamitory drug called Arouvail and it seemed to work. I really don't like taking meds so my doc suggested that I wear a walking cast for five weeks to see if it would help. I have been in the cast for three weeks now and have two weeks to go. I have been totaly pain free. I can't remember the last time I was able to get out of the bed and walk immediately with no pain. I can now walk right down the stairs to my bathroom with no pain. My wife is happy to have her bathroom back. The cast will be removed on January 11,1999. That day is comming very fast and I am worried about how I'll feel after the cast is removed. Will the pain come back? Will I still be able to get out the bed and immediately walk downstairs with no pain? Has anyone else had this experience. If so please let me know.
I'm dreading having to take the cast off hoping that the pain won't return.
