I have a theory that the reason we are in this position is that we have a general weakness in our feet that is not always apparent. I also think people who have a propencity for this help bring it on by wearing cheap shoes and shoes without proper support. It doesn't seem fair of course but I think once you have the problem occur you should be very careful about the shoes you wear. There are some Birks that are not suitable for people with PF so it stands to reason a $10.00 pair of sandals might not be right. Just a thought.
