Unsure of heel pain

I have been having pain on the back of my heel. It doesn't sound like pf, but nevertheless quite painfull. It hurts to the touch. It almost feels like my heel bone is bruised. I haven't been to a doctor due to lack of insurance. But it seems to be getting worse. Sometimes it is so painfull, I can barely walk. I just hobble around in pain. I've tried the foot massage machine, and lotions, and running shoes. Nothing seems to work. I'm getting a little worried now. If anyone knows about this type of pain please email me. I would surely appreciate any information that you may have.
