Surgery

I have been seeing a DPM for heel spur for several months. The spur is at the back of the heel cutting into the archilies (sp) tendon. I have been given 2 shots of cortizone to control the pain, but no surgery was planned until this week when the archilies tendon ruptured.I have conventional surgery scheduled for tomorrow to remove the spur and repair the tendon.
I'm a bit aprehensive about the surgery, and wanted to know if anyone has any experience or advice in this area.
