Re: feeling hopeless

Iysa, I got my PF in October, tendonitis was added in December. I have been doing intensive research ever since. I have a sports injury doc I trust, and she says that FREQUENT stretching of hamstring (especially) and of calf (be careful not to overstretch-to-pain, especially if you have tendonitis) muscles are the best short and long term treatments. Secondly, losing weight. I am 30-40 lbs overweight, and this problem WILL BE SOLVED by May/June. I got one of those exercise bikes where your legs are extended out in front of you (I can't remember the name) which helps my aerobic fitness, my state of mind, and weight loss -- I do 25 min/day. The main battle is the mind, though. It's not easy for someone who treasures being alone in the backwood trails. The 4 walls of my room are no substitite! I use crutches sometimes. I rent a wheelchair (may buy it) so I can be wheeled around occasionally in art galleries or Golden Gate Park by my son or friends. I am surprised that so many people have had PF/Tendonitis for more than a year. Do you mean it has come and gone over the last 3 years, or always been present?
