I am now under the treatment of a podiatrist who seems to think he can cure this no problem. I have shoe inserts and heel lifts with a good shoe. I am doing PT 2 times a week including Ultrasound and ice with stretching and strengthening excercises I do 2x a day plus ice and a topical anti inflammatory plus Lodine. I have been religiously doing everything I'm suppose to. I am in a wheelchair so I am doing full body stretching, stomach and leg strenthening excercises plus the stationary bike 45 minutes per day to get in shape and loose weight. I wear nite splints but I am having trouble with them staying on. They are a new kind and are not working. The doctor will replace these next week. I have been doing all of this new treatment for 1 month plus I have stayed off my feet for 6 weeks. Prior to this the pain was in both feet entirely and they throbbed every time I was on them. My big toes I could not move without excruciating pain and just recently my little toes started to go numb. I now do not have the throbbing or much toe pain but if I walk on them for 5 minutes or more they start to hurt. The pain was gone for a while but it is now coming back even when I'm not walking.
The PT does not know why and thinks I need to cutback on excercises. They say my problem is from lack of range of motion in my ankles. I am feeling incredibly discouraged because I have three small children and I'm 36 and I dont have much time for this. It has been very hard on my family (husband) and we do not have much help and we are a one income family so we dont have an abundance of money either. Ihave just run across GORDON's entry and wondered if anyone is trying this with success? I am doing some of the aerobic activity and I can add vitamin C but it all seems like a full time job and I already have 3 full time jobs in my kids.I'm sorry I wrote so much but I don't know what else to do. My life has stopped and I want it back.
