TORN FOOT LIGAMENT

I twisted my foot and after a few days it got to the point that I couldn't put much weight on my painful heel. I went to the foot doctor and he said that I torn a ligament (arch side close the heel). He taped it/icing and I am limiting my walking. Any other suggestions etc. Thanks in advance.
