I just went to the podiatrist yesterday and was diagnosed with heel spurs and falling arches (one their way). He injected one heel with cortisone, put me on predisone for one week and asked me to come back in 2 weeks with a new pair of New Balance tennis shoes. At that time he will make some orthotic-foot inserts. I have heard various reports about these-favorable and unfavorable. Many think over the counter inserts are just as good and much cheaper. Some enjoy leather inserts made by a chiropracter.
